Many of us learn our contract drafting skills by editing and updating existing precedent documents or third party contracts. Unfortunately, this can result in the perpetuation of poor drafting and legal risk and prevent drafters from keeping on top of current case law.
To learn how to make your contracts do the job they are being created to perform, attend our ‘Contract Drafting Skills’ workshop. It’s an intensive one-day training course aimed at commercial managers, contract managers, and anyone with a good understanding of contract law who has to draft, amend or update contracts. This workshop is only available to be delivered in-house for your team. Read more about in-house training here.
“I found Tiffany to be engaging, knowledgeable and approachable, and have come away from the course wanting more! I would recommend the course to anyone in the early stages of their career in the commercial contract arena or who wants to refresh or validate their skills as I did.”
– Rachel Millward, Legal Advisor for HSBC

- Identify hidden problems with group framework agreements, and how to tackle them
- Appreciate the balance between risk, tone & length
- Identify your target audience and draft accordingly
- Understand legal terminology and use it appropriately
- Develop your drafting skills to write more clearly
- Become a competent proof reader of contract documents
- Build your confidence through practice!
You will come away with practical tools to help you draft agreements that are as clear and unambiguous as possible.
Each delegate will receive a copy of Tiffany’s book ‘Essential Contract Drafting Skills’ which is a useful reference resource, both during and after the workshop. It should help you to consolidate your learning, refresh your memory, and clarify anything that has become unclear with the passage of time.
“Good interaction between presenter and attendees, and between attendees… Good for experienced commercial managers – highly recommended.”
– Gordon Watson, Commercial Manager for Schlumberger
Who should attend?
This workshop is aimed at people with a reasonable understanding of contract law who already have some experience of working in the commercial and contract field.
Looking to do all three of our contract courses?
You might want to consider our three day course, which covers all of the material from our drafting workshop. It’s run twice a year, whereas the one day courses are only available in June. Alternatively, if there are six or more of you, it would be very cost-effective to run this as an in-house workshop. Please get in touch for more information.
